It seems there cannot be Jazz in New York without a Club named Birdland. It was inspired by Charlie Parker who headlined at the original club when it first opened in 1949. It re-opened at a new location in 1986, and has since become a springboard for many young talents, and also hosts established masters of Jazz in their nightly schedule.
